Mentorship

Sometimes the first step is simply talking it through.

Not every opportunity is ready for a formal assessment. Sometimes you have an idea, a farm, a piece of land, a product or a business that isn't performing as it should, and you need someone with experience to sit down with you and work through it.

That is where I see mentorship fitting in.

The starting point is usually quite simple. We talk about what you are trying to do, what you think the opportunity is, where you are uncertain and what you already know. From there, we can start asking the questions that matter. Is there a market? Who is the customer? What would make the business work? What are the risks? What information are we missing? What needs to happen before you put more money into it?

Sometimes a few conversations are enough to give you a clearer direction. Other opportunities need more investigation. That may lead to a structured Method2Market assessment, where we properly test the commercial case. It is also valuable to learn that an opportunity shouldn't be pursued. Knowing that before committing significant money and time can be just as valuable as finding a good opportunity.

The aim isn't to tell you what to do. It is to bring another perspective to the table, challenge the thinking where necessary and help you make better commercial decisions.
