About Francois

Experience matters when decisions have consequences.

My career has largely been spent in agriculture, horticulture, and commercial business, working with people trying to build, improve, or develop something.

That experience has taught me that good opportunities are not always obvious. Sometimes the biggest opportunity is sitting inside a business that isn't performing properly. Sometimes it is a product that hasn't found the right market. Sometimes the idea itself needs to change.

I enjoy working through those situations.

The approach is practical and commercial. Understand what is there, question the assumptions, look at the market and work out whether the numbers and the opportunity make sense.

The aim isn't to produce a report for the sake of producing a report. It is to help make a better decision and, where the opportunity is right, help turn it into something real.

Much of my current focus is on Africa, agriculture and commercial opportunities, particularly where there is potential to develop something that is underutilised or hasn't yet reached its potential.
